Design Engineer

At TradeZella, we’re on a mission to empower 1 million retail day traders to become consistently profitable. That mission depends on delivering an exceptional product experience—from the very first click to the deep workflows that power a trader’s day.

As our first Design Engineer, you’ll lead the charge to simplify complexity, inject delight, and build an end-to-end design system from scratch. But beyond beautiful interfaces, we want you to bring a new kind of design muscle—one powered by the latest in AI-assisted tools and intelligent workflows. You’ll use AI to speed up design exploration, test variations, and even generate interaction logic—helping us move faster without compromising quality.

You’ll work closely with product and engineering to create frictionless user experiences—and help amplify the love traders have for TradeZella.

What You’ll Do

• Craft a frictionless design experience: Eliminate friction. Reduce clicks. Simplify workflows.

• Own our design system: Build our next-gen component library and visual language from scratch—with scalability, consistency, and joy in mind.

• Leverage AI to boost creative output: Use AI tools to generate concepts, iterate on designs, auto-document components, and prototype at lightspeed.

• Ship end-to-end features: From ideation to implementation, you’ll bring features to life with both design and code.

• Simplify complex workflows: Understand trader behavior and turn data-heavy tasks into intuitive flows.

• Build emotion into the product: Add personality, moments of surprise, and joy where it matters most.

• Work cross-functionally: Collaborate deeply with product and engineering to align on goals, scope, and UX tradeoffs.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience as a Design Engineer or hybrid Product Designer/Frontend Dev in a fast-paced product team.

• Strong proficiency with modern frontend stacks (React, Tailwind, or similar).

• A portfolio that shows your eye for design, product thinking, and implementation chops.

• Experience designing and building full design systems.

• Familiarity with or curiosity about AI-assisted tools like V0, Cursor, Magician, Figma AI, Bolt, etc.

• Bonus: Interest in trading, investing, or financial markets.

• Bonus: experience with motion design or interaction prototyping.
